Reviews - Britney Spears Circus Tour

Love her or loathe her? The nation seems divided. Britney Spears’ Circus has come to town in the midst of a heavy cloud of controversy, concerning her use of lip-syncing on stage and reports of her less than satisfactory engagement with her audience. Having already performed in Melbourne and Perth, Britney Spears will be in Sydney until the 20th November, then on to Brisbane, Melbourne again and Adelaide, the final concert in her worldwide tour.

Rumours are circulating about mass audience walkouts and disgruntled fans. Was Britney worth the money? Was Britney’s onstage performance below par? Did you expect more from her – more singing, more dancing, more personality? Should you purchase a ticket to one of her final concerts?

Your guide to the 2010 Sydney Festival

Summer in Sydney wouldn’t be the same without the Sydney Festival. How could we party away balmy evenings, dance the blues away, sing to our hearts content and picnic under the stars with the rest of the city without the Sydney Festival?

We couldn’t. We wouldn’t. We’d be strapped to a fan moaning about the heat.

If it wasn't for the Sydney Festival, we’d simply melt if their line up didn’t get cooler and cooler each year. It’s practically the only thing between us and global warming!

Coming in at Number 59 on the recent Triple J Hottest 100 Of All Time was the Augie March classic, One Crowded Hour. It’s a great track on the radio, but have you heard them play it live? Augie March will swallow you whole, send your soul soaring and leave you desperately clapping for more. There’s a new constellation in the sky. The five pointed star that is indie band Dappled Cities has been on the rise for some time now. And it’s a bloody big star.
